Position(s) To Be Filled: Milling Machine Operator and Programmer

Type of Business: CnC & Manual Machine shop

F/T or P/T and Hours of Work: F/T position

Duties/ Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations, Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers), Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery, Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the tool path for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools

Skills, Training and Qualification Needed: 
  • Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training;
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years;          
  • Languages: English;          
  • Type of Machine Experience: Milling, Conventional, Computer Numerical Control (CNC);          
  • Experience with Machining Tools and Machines: CNC machines, Milling machines, 
  • Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Gauges.  

Wages/Benefits: Wage range from $26.00 per hour to $36.00 per hour (depends on skills and experience), bonus may apply. Group insurance benefits after 3 months. Wages are monitored on a monthly basis to ensure appropriate wage. There is opportunity for wage increase within the 3 month probationary period depending on presented skill level.

Type of Business: CnC & Manual Machine shop

F/T or P/T and Hours of Work: F/T position

Duties/ Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables, Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, Repair machine tools and parts, Set up and adjust production machinery, Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments, Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments, Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.

  • Languages: English;          
  • Type of Machine Experience: Conventional, Computer Numerical Control (CNC);          
  • Experience with Machining Tools and Machines: CNC machines, Drill presses, Engine lathes, Milling machines, Sawing machines, Single purpose production machines;          
  • Measuring Tools: Micrometers, Callipers, Gauges.  

Wages/Benefits: Wage range from $25.50 per hour to $36.00 per hour (depends on skills and experience), bonus may apply. Group insurance benefits. Wages are monitored on a monthly basis to ensure appropriate wage. There is opportunity for wage increase within the 3 month probationary period depending on presented skill level.
